Regulatory context

Labels and placards for the transport of dangerous goods by road are defined in ADR (chapter 5.2 for the marking of packages, chapter 5.3 for containers, tanks and vehicles). The design, colours and symbol of each label are prescribed by ADR; the consignor is responsible for selecting the correct label for the UN number and class of the goods.
